[vigilantics]

[ it's a little bit after investigation ends when steph goes to find kyouka, wherever she is. steph remembers how shaken up the girl was at the beginning of the week so she wants to make sure that she's doing okay. ]

[ Kyouka has her list of people she'd be sad to see gone, and Steph is on it. With so few of them left alive, her relief is clear. ]

I'm fine. [ Calmer now than earlier in the week. ] You're alive.

[vigilantics]

I'm alive!

[ would steph have volunteered to have taken the place of any of the dead? yes. she definitely would have, but she is also not saying that out loud. ]

We made it.

[nivation]

[ That would be such a bad thing to say. Understandable but bad. Kyouka was worried the most because STeph is a hero. ]

We made it, but what about tomorrow?

[ If they have to shave numbers down.... ]

[vigilantics]

... we'll deal with it then.

[ she frowns. ]

I know of at least two people who are volunteering to get executed, at least.

[nivation]

[ Kyouka looks down at her hands. ]

Is the trial just going to be deciding who should be executed for the numbers and not to find out who killed?

[vigilantics]

I think we should still find out who did it. Depending on who they are, though, we won't be able to vote for them.

[ at this point, they can only choose from heroes since they have their final three for both civilians and villains. ]

[nivation]

That... feels odd.

[ Not that some of her votes were because she knew who did it. ]

The longer we're here, the more I thought I'd get used to it, but that's not true.

[vigilantics]

I know what you mean. But... I think it's good that we didn't get used to it.

[ she doesn't think she would want to. ]

[nivation]

A... part of me wants to be numb to it.

[ It'd hurt less. ]

[vigilantics]

It'll be easier that way. But... it's better if you're not, even if it's painful.

If you were then you probably wouldn't care as much about bringing everyone back.

[nivation]

[ She hurts so much, but she cares more about losing more people than getting people back. There's a stab of guilt that keeps her silent for a moment. She's selfish, and she's conflicted. ]

I want to help, but I... could care more.

[vigilantics]

You're helping, Kyouka. Believe that.

[ she puts both her hands on her shoulders. ]
