Where I'm from, they don't really teach Japanese history unless you take specialized classes for it. So there's a lot of people who have no idea who the people you know are-- but look at us right now! You just taught me so many things about him, and I'm sure you can do even more.
Even if you're surrounded by people who don't know his name, you're proof that he existed, and that he fought very hard for what he believes in.
