[vigilantics]

[ it's a couple of hours after execution when stephanie is actually awake. she left her door open for easy access, mostly because she has a feeling people will come by and it's easier than to just keep telling people to come in.

when shirasu stops by, she'll wave. it's not very enthusiastic. ]

[he steps over to the bed, taking a seat on the edge of it.]

...and we'll find a way to deal with this soon enough.

[maybe someone knows how to make a fake leg or something? possibly?]

It's possible to still walk with only one leg. I have my crutches.

[ normally you get like, physical therapy to go along with the process, but they don't even have real doctors here. ]

The stairs are going to be tricky, admittedly.

[ everything in this castle is stairs ]

The stairs were my main concern, yes- among other things.

[not that she could've run from anything very well before either, but. yeah.]

You could always make your partner carry you in the meantime.

[it's only half a joke.]

[ she seems to consider it for half a second before shaking her head. ]

That's just going to annoy him.

It seems as if many things do.

[he's just a little prickly, huh.]

Yeah. I'm one of them.

[ every day she questions if she and hikage are actually friends or not because it is very hard to tell with him. ]

[wagashis]

I doubt it's that bad.

[hikage wouldn't say much, though...

he hums quietly, and-]

Is there anything I can do for you?

[vigilantics]

[ she's quiet for a moment, thinking. ]

Just sit with me? Until you get bored.

[wagashis]

I doubt I would get bored of you, Stephanie.

[that gets a little smile, and he carefully shifts to settle in a bit more.]

I'll stay as long as you want.

[vigilantics]

[ his answer definitely pleased her, she even sits up more. ]

Great! Oh, that sounded too excited.

[wagashis]

[alright, that gets a brief laugh.]

Did it? I find it flattering that you enjoy my company that much.

[you're fine, steph, it's kinda cute.]

[vigilantics]

[ she shrugs. ]

Well, I like you.

[wagashis]

I've enjoyed spending time with you, as well. Possibly more than I expected to.

[the date wasn't a thing he ever anticipated, that's for sure.]

Hm... I tend to get that reaction!

[ she's a slow burn. ]

[wagashis]

Ah- not because of anything on your end.

[he should probably clarify that...]

It's just that there isn't much opportunity for it, when you live far enough out of the way. I didn't consider myself an especially social person.

I've never minded your company, though.

[vigilantics]

You just spent your time with that family, huh...

[ it's hard for her to imagine, since she lived her whole life in a major city. it's a little hard to not have to deal with others. ]

Well, lack of social interaction or not, I like being with you too.
