[It seems to be the general consensus. He sighs, moving to lift his hand and rub the back of his neck--but the movement makes him wince, and he lowers it again. Stupid break-in injury.]
I don't know what it could be, though. What did we forget to check?
We never found one of the bullets, which... I don't know if we missed it in a location we searched, or if someone had it and we just didn't find it on them?
[ it's hard to say. ]
Or if fingerprints would have shown up on anything else.
I think a lot of it depends on timing. So like... let's say the killer went after him, Hikage shot at them, and then they threw the smoke bomb? That way Hikage could no longer see, so if he shot again he'd definitely miss. And that would be a good time for the killer to get him, especially if our glowing eye theory is right.
[ ... ]
Still doesn't say where the bullet went though. The chances of someone getting hit depends mostly on if the shots were fired before or after visibility was impaired, although I guess there is a chance of the shooter getting lucky...?
[Yasusada is doing a Think. He's really, really not meant for this kind of thing, but he's trying. He didn't even like Hikage very much, but--they've lost so many of their own, so quickly. Even if it leads nowhere, he can't just sit on his hands.]
I wonder what the real wound was, though. Is it possible he was shot with his own gun? [Since they know the killer tried their best to obscure it, whatever it was.]
It could be. There wasn't an exit wound though, so... that means the bullet that would have hit him was either the one at the scene, or the missing one.

That, or the murder weapon may have been something distinct. Like the owner would have been the only one to have it, so if we examine it to the body, we would have figured it out.
Probably. The castle was pretty strict about there needing to be a vote, and I'm sure the case is the same here, too. So we'd have to scapegoat someone again.

...Do you think we were misled again?

I know last time we were wondering if fake evidence was involved, but I don't think that's the case this time. We just missed something.

Do you think he fired it? Or could the killer have gotten it away from him?
[Not that they'll ever really know now, but...]

There's too many options again...
[WHY IS THIS SO HARD]

Which we also don't want. Because it's bad.
[ but if they can't solve one murder, they could just move onto another one ]
