[ after making sure lili is patched up and not dead, steph will go searching for who else was involved... she figures she'll go to the one who was the least seemingly injured, wherever he is. ]
[ that would be yin yu, who is mostly fine! aside from the bandage on his hand and the scratches on his face, all seems fairly well. when he's spoken to, he briefly glances up, then nods with recognition, lifting his hand and fist together to bow his head, politely. ]
Thank you for your help, earlier. [ looking back up, he offers her a small smile. ] What do you need?
[ he doesn't quite laugh, but a flicker of amusement crosses his face. ]
It's not annoying. It isn't as if many of us were there to see it. [ he nods his head to steph, if she wants to take a seat where he's hanging out! as for his injuries.. he gives a slight wave of his unbandaged hand. ] I'm alright; relatively, I got off fairly easy.
When we entered, we heard the sound of children crying. Lady Lili asked me to investigate it, so Lady Flayn and I went, and followed the sound to two doors down the hallway. The further that we proceeded... whatever it was had some effect on our mental states. I had forgotten entirely about who I arrived with, and by the time we stepped through the door we chose, it was not to anywhere with crying children, nor an infirmary, but rather, back to the island Lady Flayn and I came from.
[ he nods. ] There were more than a few things off, but, one of our comrades from the island was in an infirmary tent that hadn't been there before. She was... younger, maybe around eleven or twelve, but it was her, without a doubt.
[ that's an interesting question. yin yu pauses, and then shakes his head. ]
I wasn't injured much on the island. [ though, actually... he reaches up and touches his face, briefly, underneath the cuts. ] ...I was hit in the face, but it was a much different circumstance. [ there were definitely no claws involved, just a chain. it was still on his face though... ]
[ .... ] You've already spoken with Lady Lili, haven't you? Did she say hers were the same as something that happened previously?
... it wasn't exactly the same, but... she apparently ran into sharks in the village.
[ steph does not out that's how lili died, since that's not her business to spill, but lili at least mentioned sharks to a few people publicly so it's fine. ]
So even if the circumstances aren't exact copies, it's probably being influenced by what happened to us before.
[ hey thank you for setting me up for this ic knowledge!!!
yin yu takes a long moment to consider what she's saying. sharks are dangerous animals, and the fact that lili got out of this was a blessing in its own right. she easily could have died. if she encountered them before...
his eyes widen, and every other thought in his head stops for one crystal-clear realization: neena killed flayn.
it shakes him; he takes a moment to properly respond to what steph said, still stunned. ] ...I agree. [ he's suddenly very, very grateful that he was there, even more so than before. ] That means it could very well happen to anyone, at any time.
[ his reaction isn't what she expected. she doesn't respond right away, wondering if she should press further or just let the conversation keep going normally for now.
...
she'll settle for the latter. ]
... yeah. So we should all be careful, and try not to do anything too risky by ourselves.
[ he nods, slowly tabling that thought for later, when he's by himself. it doesn't have much to do with the camp, anyway, so at the moment, it's irrelevant. ]
And, I believe it's safe to say that most places in this camp are 'risky', especially for those among our group who are not skilled in defending themselves. I am no stranger to these situations, and even I struggled.
... that's good to know. I can take care of myself too, but sometimes that's not enough in places like this.
[ especially since she's pretty sure there are people who are only used to fighting with powers, so having those taken away from them is definitely a setback. ]
week 1, thursday

Did you see anyone that you knew from there? Lili said she saw her old partner from the village.

[ that's. bad. ]
The injuries you have... are they similar to something that happened to you on the island?

We really need to keep an eye on each other.
