Pretty much. There, my ability was that I could examine one piece of evidence that was left behind and get information on it. One of my friends knew what time a death occurred, someone else was able to create fake evidence-- that kind of thing. There were a few kinds of healing, another person could die in the place of someone else... a large range, I guess.

For us, the three groups weren't in any direct competition against each other or anything. We just had to make sure the numbers were even or else we were screwed.

The place with the temple, they talked about competition, too. The people following a leader will win, but so will the leader. What does that mean in the long run? If the leader is trying to get something by using us as pawns.
If it's more than simply a kindergarten relay race to make us behave.
The temple knew they were in competition from the start, and why. The winning party would get a wish granted. They also agreed to participate willingly, since it was ... a dream. It was a pantheon of gods trying to decide who would lead via competition using that group.

Whatever competition this is-- if it is linked to what's going to happen-- is a different ball game entirely.

Basically, we ended up with three people left in each faction. If we dipped below those numbers, we were screwed. But when we complete our objectives, we collected ink as rewards for it. Each faction had to collect a certain amount of ink, so if any were slacking we would be... wait for it, screwed.
